first three days in san francisco and after all these travelling , we found san francisco to be an interesting city of many identities. Freedom of speech and expression is praticed here and the interesting thing is that there are many buskers as well as beggers on the roads of san francisco. The thing about the city is that it never let go of its past and seek to preserve the past. This is what i like about a city which is full of life in having pride days , protests and also strip joints lol ! . keke
but ultimately it was the brilliant engineering of the engineers that built the golden gate bridge and the trans-american pyramid that made it famous around the world
did a lot of damage to my budget on souvenirs lol and also the Chinatown in sf is very robust and full of life too. Will post the pictures to let you all see !

last day at mammoth = start of travels
today on the morning of the 8th of oct 2007. i am writing on my bed and reluctantly going to wish mammoth a farewell and moving on in my life. Mammoth although i was here for the last 3 weeks, quickly brought me memories of good friends companions and also a good working environment. The guests are also great and the employees friendly!
Never would i guess in a span of three short weeks i would be making so much friends and being able to get into a snowball fight and making snow man and basically seeing heavy snow.
I wish all my friends a blissfull and safe trip and till then my american and international friends live long and prosper !
Will miss you all

today is the 5th of october and i am now almost three weeks in mammoth and the weather forecast has been snow snow and snow. However snow has not come and you can see residual snow on the mountain cliffs but not in mammoth
this morning when i woke up i was just surfing the net and i just had this feeling that it would snow. At last it did ! On this day on a friday snow was upon us and deep snow too !

This experience is surreal and this was the first time i saw snow all on the ground and i think mc and how will be having a feast with the snow too.

The feeling and the view was breathless. The first time i saw heavy snow falling !

Indescribable !

last day of work was a really smooth one. Most customers know that canyon is closing and was actually pleasantly happy and some were clueless but the last day of the season was that day. We were having mixed feelings and some of us knew that the end of a great season is here but we were all there to enjoy ourselves.
We did our deep cleaning on the 16th of sept and took tons of pictures and later we had a great party at lisa's place and then to the survivors party itself late into the night.
The finale was great , this will be an experience that i will never forget and the friends i made never forgotten ! :)

on the day before i left i went to the canyon one last time to see the grand canyon of yellowstone with my taiwanese friend yu-chi. We happened to be off on the same day and decided to go for the hike one last time.
We trekked through the whole canyon till uncle toms point and hitched a hike back from a kind taiwanese guy on vacation to yellowstone from canada. He was a kind young guy with a japanese girlfriend and had japanese music playing in his car ! :)
The trek was fun with yu-chi wanting to go all the falls except for the artists point trail. It was truly a one last trek for us.

It snowed on the 9th of september and this is a back dated post but still nevertheless a post as i post. I remember i was on the sunday morning shift and went back at 2.15pm and was slacking around my room and surfing the net till i saw something slow falling off the outside of the window.

Omg it was snow, it was the first time in my life i saw snow ! I was so excited and the sight of seeing snow so pumped me up that i immediately went outside to take some quick shots and changed my clothes and went running !. Omg, i was just wearing my survivor tshirt and pants to run in the snow. Ohh my what a wrong move that was. I was freezing and my hands were numb in the freezing cold. It was really a bad ideal to go out running with no protection in the cold at the highest lodge in yellowstone lol.
When i went back there was a sense of satisfaction but the snow had already stopped. That to me was a good sneak preview of the heavier snow to come for yellowstone which i would expect in october. So have fun with the picture!

farewell to my close and adorable colleague kate nowinska. She is the ever so adorable and funny girl to be with and ever so friendly and warm. She is probably the only person i can work perfectly with. But of cause with us speaking english europeanly. We connected with each other very easily. You can call that europe english standards. Lol

i have been working with her for the last 2months and i was appaulled by how she can adapt well and fast to her environment and her linguistics skills are excellent and she really left an impression on everyone she meet. She is like a light bulb and she makes the days of customers lightup. I believe everyone at work will miss her and stay healthy and cheerfull also k8 !

alphine beartooth adventure

19th august 2007, i went on the most expensive yellow bus ride and that is the alphine beartooth adventure and i almost couldn't get on it until some guests did not attend and tamara kindly asked me to get on the bus. The full day bus tour was really interesting and it reaches out all the way out of the park and into the beartooth highway which has some really spectacular views of the mountains which they call the beartooth highway.
There were scenic turns and mildly cold weather. Tamara was a great driver and we saw a couple of wildlife which makes the trip a fruitful one. It was interesting to get out of the park to see scenics once in a while and we saw many cute animals which we really an eye opener. Ok let me let you see the beauty of nature. The bluetooth was named because it was a mountain that got pushed up by another mountain because of earthquakes and there were distinct overlapping of mountains which in turn create a surreal landscape and isolated lakes which is very extraordinary.

went for the Roosevelt cookout wagon ride and dinner and was riding a teddy bears and breakfast bus ride in the morning and was conned by Scott a friend of Angela from Malaysia to stay in Roosevelt lol. I was virtually there for the entire day lol. Sitting on the chair and walking over to disturb and talk shop with Angela. Woa they are so much slacker then canyon man. I was then so bored that i took a quick hike to the back of the cabins to this small waterfall and went back just when it begins to rain. Angela was so serious behind the desk man and i just asked her to relax and smile which she did hardly lol.

Waited till 4pm plus and saw my friends at lake come over. Kaoz they like can go anywhere they like and was virtually allover the park just because they have got cars. Damn, meng chang and how kw kept on delaying and we have less time left to tour the park fully. Dun know what the heck they doing man.

Went for the cookout and boy were they organized and efficient ! . the most efficient cowboys around the park man. The company was good , food was good and the cowboy singing was also great! Met up with gigi and we had a great time talking about everything under the sun and this was why i only managed 2 steak. Lol. It was the first time i was on a horse wagon ride and i must say those horses really work very hard to get the almost 3ton wagons full of people to move. Salute the horses.

Overall, the cookout is a must go for people visiting yellowstone and no wonder the cookout activity is the most famous in the park !

on this 12th of august on the day after my birthday. Me, mc, howkw. Wang yang and two other Taiwanese people went to gardiner for some white water rafting. It was my first time doing white water rafting and was actually not very excited as i was not in a very good mood. We tried to hitch hike in the morning and only managed to get to gardiner in the afternoon and we were all searching heuristically for a rafting company which could give us a good discount. We searched for awhile and finally decided to settle for the gardiner river rafting company.

We went to subway for some quick fix and then went at 1.30pm to prepare for the rafting trip. The water people were really professional and courteous which really made us more relaxed for the preparation of the whole trip. We went on a bus van after saddling up on our life vest and paddles. The river was surreal and really interesting. Pure blue and green while white on the rapids.
We were joined by 2 elderly couples who was really pleasant and they sat behind the last two slots of the raft. Our guide patt was really friendly and guided us really well on the raft. Well he was a professional too.
The white water rafting was actually enjoyable ! Feeling the rapids when you crash down on the waves and having the water splash up. It was a feeling hard to explain. It is an experience man.

two trips to cody !

sunday cody trip. Well me and heramb we jumped at the chance of going on an employee trip to cody and well ahead. I was on off on sunday and tuesday and i decided to go for the sunday one which was a personnel office one and the other on tuesday.
Cody is a nice little town at east Yellowstone and it is famous for its night rodeo and many museums they have of the wild west. Many things have changed and the town famous for william “cody” bill has become more like a tourist resort. William bill was a famous outdoor adventure cowboy and known for his daring and enduring love of the wild west and nature.

We went to walmart and did full shopping and missed out on the museum which was a tactical choice as we had a huge shopping list.
Walmart was huge and a little like singapore's gaint. Lots of goods and the funny thing is that a lot of the goods are actually quite cheap and MADE IN CHINA. Omg china is making everything in the world now man !!!.
spent on the two occasions and my bill came to about 200+ dollars. Need new shoes and such and was like looking around for room spray and such lol.

Overall a good trip we had and i had my first chinese and decent meal at a chinese restaurant. The poh pia was excellent but the fried rice has a bit of a funny favour and it was like tasting funny lol. Maybe im too used to singapore food lol.
